Camisola com flores/Sweater with flowers

Nesta camisola
In this sewater

utilizei este cortante da sizzix
I used this sizzix’s die

Casaco que passou a ter bolsos/The Jacket has now pockets

I mentioned, in January, in this post, that I was working to give a new face to some of my daughter’s clothes that I had bought on the sales.
Time passed and I did not show it!
Well, let's fix this: in the next few posts I will show everything.
Today is about this jacket:

My little girl loves pockets and I found this idea in Martha Stewart's.

Very easy to do: I cut the orange felt using the template (in the link above) I sew it to the coat and then sew a red ric-rac.
Simple but effective!

E a cachopa gostou!! É um sucesso!!! :)
And the girl loves it!!! Yay!!!!

Amigurumi Saga - Gran Finale

Amigurumi Saga - III

Neste episódio vamos conhecer o fim desta grande jornada!
In the last episode we left our heroine ecstatic with the discovery of the truth!
In this episode we'll look at the end of this great journey!
Does our heroine reach its goal: the wisdom?!
Do not miss it, in a blog near you!

As instruções diziam: “using brown yarn, join yarn at a sc on bottom of back of body. Get ready; this takes forever! I worked in rows all over the back and on top of the head as follows: *ch 3, sk 2 sc, sc 1, rep from *. A distracção outra vez!)
E eis o resultado!!!!
I was ready to begin the final part of the work, which would define my hedgehog: a layer of thorns.
But, I only had 24 hours! And yesterday I was not too well, with flu.
The directions stand: “using brown yarn, join yarn at a sc on bottom of back of body. Get ready; this takes forever! I worked in rows all over the back and on top of the head as follows: *ch 3, sk 2 sc, sc 1, rep from *. (and the assembly of the legs only after making the thorns! ups! I did it again!)
Well, if the rest had been difficult, what to say about this part?
I tried and tried and tried but just could not understand the instructions!
For a moment I was tempted to give up!
I seriously considered this possibility: picked up the doll and had it embellished to the occasion. That way the drama and nightmare would end (after al,l who would receive it didn’t know the intention of making the hedgehog, right?)
I really, really, really, really, was attempted!
But then I thought that was cheating and I would know I had cheated! Besides, that hedghog would be pursued me for the rest of my days!
Could not be!
I take a deep breath, picked up the needle and…improvised!!
First I made rows in single crochet from the bottom to the top, than in the opposite direction I did in double crochet. Then I went back to the top by making a chain of three, finished with single stitch at the first point, two single stitches and then a chain of three and so on.
Well, I can honestly say that it seemed that would not end!
It was hard also because the doll was already stuffed and the needle brought parts of filling that mixed with the line and created knots…a nightmare!!!!!
But ...I finished it! And here's the result:

This is compared to what should be:

Ok, o original é lindo, eu sei, apaixonei-me por ele, lembram-se?
Mas o meu....o meu é o fruto do meu ‘sangue, suor e lágrimas’ e eu adoro-o!!!! :)
Ah! E ainda tenho uma cabeça! Metade de um urso já está feito!!!! ;)
Ok, the original is beautiful, I know, I fell in love with him, remember?
But mine...mine is from my 'blood, sweat and tears' and I love it!! :)
And now I have another project in hands: eggs! To be finished in April.
They seem to be very simple to do and I suspect that I should have started with them! (but I keep you posted!)
Ah! And I still have a head! Half of a bear is already done!! ;)

Amigurumi Saga - II

Welcome to the second part of this saga. In the last episode we left our heroine in the midst of her darkest thoughts, inquiring about what had gone wrong and what would be her way forward from there! Does she go beyond such terrible times?
Do not miss it, in a blog near you!
Isto é, pus o livro à frente e comecei a ler as instruções linha a linha.
Tinha feito, a menos, 11 carreiras!
Estava explicado o falhanço!
O mundo estava em paz outra vez!!! :)
Rápidamente montei o boneco!
Well, first I decided to start over, but I keep that head.
Secondly, I decided to give myself a deadline. That way the project would be remove from the work in progress ones and went to the urgent ones, so that I would have to concentrate efforts.
The deadline that I created for myself was the 14th of February, today!
After all, I had only begun the hedgehog because I had the right person to whom offer it!
I resumed work as if I knew anything. That is, put the book in front of me and began to read the instructions line by line. Read a line and executed the instructions and so on!
Suddenly I have a moment of revelation, of illumination and wonderment when I got to the line that said: “R6-17 sc 40”.
In the first job I had read 7 instead of 17 so I didn’t do 11 rows!
That explained the failure!
The world was at peace again! :)
So, quickly I assemble the doll!

Amigurumi Saga

Prepare yourself to an incredible story of knowledge seeking full of danger and traps ...
In a blog near you!
Comprei o “Amigurumi World – Seriously cute crochet” de Ana Paula Rimoli.
E no crochet, adoro!
The reason why I have not updated this blog is because I was involved in a project with a deadline: Today!
I know crochet, I learned it from my mother and my aunts: I've done lace, small and large ones, squares, handrails, sweaters, with low, with high point, with a combination of points, etc..
But nothing prepared me for this experience!
Last year I found amigurumi: the creation of small dolls, three-dimensional, using needle, thread and the technique of crochet.
First researched the net but as nothing was satisfying ... I bought a book, obviously! :)
I bought
“Amigurumi World – Seriously cute crochet” from Ana Paula Rimoli.
When it arrived, I was delighted with him. It is extremely appealing, the photos are beautiful and it has explanations of all points and abbreviations used (all in English, of course).
Only one thing I did not like, do not have schemes.
I like schemes!
And in crochet, I love them!
That way I do not need to know the language. I need only look at the symbols (which are of international use) and quickly make the interpretation!
Well, one of the dolls shown is a hedgehog. Or rather, two: a mother hedgehog with her baby! I loved it and decided right there that this would be my project initiation.
What came to be a reckless decision that gave me a complicated saga!
First the instructions for the body and head of the hedgehog’s mother, talk about 28 lines.
My point is very tight, always was, and the first problem I faced was the beginning: you must start with a chain and then you need make several single stitches in the first one of the chain. As that point was so tight I could not. However, if I let it too loose, the work would have a little hole that didn’t close.
So, this took a while! But then, I thought that I was in business:

I reached the end of 28 rows and had this:
I found it strange but I move on, that is to make the 2 paws, and came to this brilliant conclusion:

Onde coloco as patas?
Where do I put the legs?
This is a work that was a work in progress, so I had already spent a few months between having started and reached this point.
It was a moment of great disappointment!

Coroa/Crown

This work is not my doing but I have to show it to you.
It was made in my daughter’s kindergarten, by the time of three wise man’s day.
The teachers made one crown for each kid.
Foram feitas com rolos de papel higiénico.
Were made with toilet paper’s rolls.

They cut the rolls in corners and stuck them in a slice of strong cardboard, the size of kids’ heads.

Then embellish them and passed over, varnish, I think, because the crown is very bright.

I think it is a brilliant idea and is also useful to Carnival, which is approaching.
Anyone needs a crown to a little prince or princess...
